There has been much discussion in the media regarding the safety of hydraulic fracturing for oil and gas.
Listen to the February 18, 2015, conference call found on the website entitled EDCs, Oil and Gas Development, and Groundwater with Dr. Susan Nagel. The web link is located in the Learn section of this module. Download the PDF that accompanies the conference call as well as the 2 Background Information/Resources. Then, look for at least 1 peer-reviewed article that refutes the conclusion that Dr. Nagel is proposing. Discuss steps you could take as a doctorally prepared nurse and a community systems leader to ensure that this technology is used safely in your community. Why is quantitative research necessary when making decisions on the impact of environmental technology on human health?
