Overview
In the business landscape today, it’s essential for management and business leaders to display ethical standards toward employees and effectively engage employees on a daily basis. If practiced correctly, these qualities can have a long-term and positive impact on employee satisfaction and retention. This assignment will give you practice in applying an ethical analysis to an organization of choice—evaluating whether they meet modern ethical standards, and highlighting strategies that you think are ethically effective.
Goals
By completing this assignment, you will:
Demonstrate your knowledge of modern ethical standards.
Research and critically analyze a business organization’s ethical standards and practices.
Reflect on strategies that you believe are ethically effective.
Express your individual perspective on ethics in a business setting.
Task
For this case study assessment, you will visit the website Great Place to Work® and research a company on the list Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For® that you feel currently and effectively displays ethical standards and morals toward its employees. At this site, you can investigate rankings in areas such as ethics, employee retention, company culture, company perks, etc., to help you determine an organization’s overall ethical efficacy. You will need to decide what ethical criteria you want to focus on highlighting in your assessment, and then find another source that expands upon those criteria, giving you enough information to provide a thorough and thoughtful analysis. You may also draw on your own individual experience with the organization, if applicable, but ensure that all statements you make are supported by your research and appropriately cited. You can choose any organization on the list except Wegmans Food Markets Inc. since Wegmans is used in the example assignment provided.
