Scenario Title: “The Slip and Fall Incident at GreenGrove Mall”
GreenGrove Mall is a popular shopping destination known for its modern design and large food court. During a busy holiday shopping weekend, Lisa, a customer, slipped and fell near the entrance of one of the mall’s anchor stores. The area where Lisa fell was recently mopped but lacked any warning signs indicating the floor was wet. Lisa suffered a broken arm and a mild concussion as a result of the fall.
The mall’s cleaning staff admitted that they had forgotten to place a “Wet Floor” sign after mopping, and security footage confirmed that no warning signs were visible. Lisa filed a lawsuit against GreenGrove Mall, alleging negligence for failing to properly warn customers of the hazard. GreenGrove Mall argues that Lisa should have been paying more attention to her surroundings and is partly responsible for her injuries.
